Job description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plant management including implementation of a competitive people strategy, resource management and technology development of the platform HPAI Supply & GMP-Kilo Lab and micronization facility
  • Development of new methods, technologies and processes and their implementation with focus on R&D strategy considering new modalities (e.g. drug conjugates, peptides, nucleotides and RNAs)
  • Further technological development of the unit as well as implementation of new technologies for active ingredients incl. implementation of micronization approaches and transfer to the global Product Supply network
  • Management of all initial API supplies and process development activities to ensure the clinical and market supply of APIs including HPAI substances in the G4 category of Bayer Pharmaceuticals
  • Planning and management of all transfer processes for highly active ingredients (HPAIs), optimization and safe scale-up of manufacturing as well as prioritization of development packages in close collaboration with the Process Research and Development units
  • Guidance, preparation and management of internal and external inspections and audits
  • Ensuring compliance with our HSE standards to meet the legally required special measures for protection of personnel and products from and of HPAIs
  • Establishment of a continuous risk management to avoid cross-contamination to ensure GMP and HSE compliance

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

  • PhD in organic chemistry or chemical engineering with multiple years of professional experience in the development of active pharmaceutical ingredients
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in chemical process development, combined with high people orientation and willingness to shape this unique leadership role in Pharma R&D
  • Full understanding of the activities and needs of the interface functions like Process Research & Development, Product Supply and Engineering & Technology, Quality Control, Formulation Development, Toxicology, and technical development teams
  • Can-do attitude
  • Mindset to strive for efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Willingness to effectively challenge the status quo, combined with dedication to new technologies and innovation incl. future-oriented trends like digitalization
  • Personality continuously embracing our R&D culture traits like collaboration and ability to install trust in teams and the global network
  • Excellent communication skills in English and German, both verbal and written
