8th Winter Process Chemistry Conference

8th International Conference & Exhibition

Date: 05 December - 07 December 2022

Time: 12.30 noon - 4.30pm

Location: Newcastle, UK

The 8th Winter Process Conference will showcase presentations from International Chemists covering all aspects of Process Development.

The speakers will discuss the latest issues in synthetic route design, development and optimisation, reactor design, work up and purification, crystallisation, process engineering, hazard studies and quality and regulatory issues.

The presentations will be either from speakers within the chemical industry or academics with a strong link to industrial process development so the material presented with be of particular relevance to all chemists and engineers in industry as well as graduate students considering a career in industry.

Scientific Update would like to invite 2nd , 3rd or 4th year PhD students to present their work at the above conference. This award is aimed at those who are considering a career in process chemistry in industry (including pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, agrochemicals, flavour & fragrance and speciality chemical industries) and will give them an opportunity to meet and network with key industrial leaders and discover potential career options. The 10 successful candidates will be invited to attend the above conference, free of charge, present their work during a 5 minute flash presentation session and present a poster. Prizes will also be awarded for the best presentation and best poster during the meeting.

Optional Short Course - Organofluorine Chemistry- Past, Present and Future

Organofluorine Chemistry- Past, Present and Future Short Course
Dr John Studley – Scientific Update Ltd

 Wednesday 7th December 2022 | 2.00pm – 5.00pm

With a dramatic increase in the use of fluorine and fluorine containing functional groups in drugs, agrochemicals and advanced materials over the past decade, so the demand for safe, robust and scalable carbon-fluorine bond forming reactions has grown. Development of mild synthetic methods for late stage functionalization of complex molecules has led to advancements in the formation of both aryl- and alkyl-fluorine bonds under mild conditions with high efficiency and selectivity.

The aim of this short course is to highlight the reasons fluorine is ubiquitous in the pharmaceutical and fine chemical industries, summarize the traditional methods for preparing organofluorine compounds and highlight new developments in the field.

Short Course Fee = £199.00 + VAT  per person
