Event overview

Traditional batch manufacturing often faces severe safety and scalability limits when handling highly energetic or toxic transformations. Continuous flow chemistry has emerged as a transformative technology to address these challenges, enabling the safe utilization of unstable and explosive intermediates alongside highly toxic and hazardous compounds. By minimizing in-situ inventories and maximizing heat and mass transfer, flow reactors allow chemists to safely harness high-hazard chemistry, including the generation and immediate consumption of volatile azides, sensitive diazo species, and highly reactive diazonium salt intermediate compounds.

This presentation highlights the synthetic versatility and safety profiles of continuous flow systems across a diverse portfolio of challenging transformations. We will discuss the seamless integration of highly reactive gases, the precise control of strongly exothermic organometallic reactions, and the specialized setups required for advanced ozonations, fluorinations, and photochemical reactions. Crucially, we demonstrate how these hazardous methodologies can be reliably commercialized, moving beyond laboratory-scale proof of concepts to robust chemical production on a multhttps://apeloa.com/i-ton scale.

This webinar will be presented by Dr Johannes Platzek, Apeloa, who is kindly sponsoring the event. It will take place at the following time:

3.00 pm  (UK, London)
4.00 pm  (Central Europe, Paris, Frankfurt)
8.30 pm  (India)
10.00 am (East Coast US, Boston, New York)
7.00 am  (West Coast USA, LA, San Francisco)

If you are unable to attend on the day, we will be recording the session and will send you a link to the recording and copy of the slides presented. All attendees at the live event will receive a ‘Certificate of Attendance’.
