Archived: Photoredox Catalysis in Organic Synthesis

Date: 01 November - 02 November 2023

Location: Online Platform

Tutors: Dr John Studley

This Online short course will look into the industrial application of photoredox and concomitant development of enabling technologies.  The course will be in two sections of 60-90 minutes held over two consecutive days as follow:

November 1st, 2.00 – 5.00 pm (GMT – UK)  |  Session 1

November 2nd, 2.00 – 5.00 pm (GMT – UK) |  Session 2

Light-driven organic synthesis, and in particular the use of visible light in photoredox catalysis, has dramatically increased over the past decade. Application in synthetic drug discovery has expanded and augmented the rapid diversification of chemical space- with new scaffolds, late stage functionalization and high throughput screening methods being used to identify new reaction modalities. Industrial application of photoredox and concomitant development of enabling technologies such as continuous flow photochemistry is also set to impact future drug manufacturing.

This online course will be of interest to anyone who are:

Discovery/Synthetic organic chemists

Process development chemists

Anyone wishing to learn more about photoredox chemistry

When you register you will be sent links to join the on-line sessions.

What's Included

The course fee includes:

  • Link to watch all two live sessions
  • Electronic version of the course manual*

Testimonials

Online Delegate Photoredox Short Course 2021

A well presented summary of cutting-edge and interesting chemistry, great for any chemist who wants to learn the fundamentals of photoredox chemistry.

Online Delegate Photoredox Short Course 2021

I think it was a good overview and a good starting point in photoredox catalysis

Online Delegate Photoredox Short Course 2021

John gave an excellent coverage of the literature, as well as a very useful and practical consolidation of key reactions, reviews, and references in the form of the course booklet.
