Dr Paul Beswick

Paul Beswick is a Medicinal Chemist with over 30 years experience both in industry and university drug discovery groups. He Joined Glaxo in 1984 and worked in many therapeutic areas and on projects at various stages ranging from hit identification to late-stage lead optimization. Paul left GlaxoSmithKline in 2009 to join Almirall in Barcelona as Head of Medicinal Chemistry where he focused on the discovery and development of compounds for inhaled administration to treat respiratory disease. Four years later in 2013, Paul returned to the UK to join the Drug Discovery Centre and the University of Sussex where he has been responsible for managing several successful projects in the neuroscience area and has established a number of external collaborations with both industrial and academic groups. In 2017 Paul joined Bicycle Therapeutics to take up his current position as Director of Chemistry.
