Emily Elliot is a Process Safety Specialist working for DEKRA Organisational and Process Safety since January 2018. She completed her Master’s degree in Process Safety and Loss Prevention at the University of Sheffield, for which she was awarded a distinction. She has experience as a process safety engineer at a food manufacturing site where the primary focuses were dust explosion hazards (prevention and protection), emergency response and risk management.

Since joining DEKRA she has worked closely with the pharmaceuticals and chemicals industries, carrying out worst case scenario analysis leading to the development of lab scale test protocols, interpretation of results and subsequent reactive vent sizing using the DIERS methodology.

Emily also volunteers as a STEM ambassador to encourage young people into the science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects.
