Dr Roger-Marc Nicoud
Roger-Marc Nicoud, founder and CEO of Ypso-Facto, has forged a successful career as an entrepreneur in the life sciences industry. Roger-Marc Nicoud earned a PhD in process simulation for the nuclear industry from the University of Lorraine (Nancy, France). In 1987, he began his career at Separex, a leader in supercritical fluid technologies. Meanwhile, he held a position of Professor and Head of a research laboratory in thermodynamics at University of Lorraine between 1993 and 1995.
Roger-Marc Nicoud founded Novasep in 1995 to develop comprehensive solutions to produce bio- and synthetic molecules. Through his leadership, Novasep became a key player in the life sciences industry and has built-up a world-class portfolio of innovative technologies, including industrial chromatography equipment for various sectors covering the food, biotech, pharma, biopharma and fine chemical industries.
Between 2009 and 2015, he chaired the board of Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Industries Chimiques (ENSIC, Nancy, France).
He founded Ypso-Facto in 2014 as a service company offering assistance to industrial firms to develop, optimize and secure their chemical and bioprocesses. With the vision to combine strong industrial experience and scientific expertise, he gathered the complementary know-how of (bio)chemists and process engineers to develop efficient, robust and innovative processes.
Roger-Marc Nicoud has a strong expertise in the field of industrial preparative chromatography and he has gathered 30 years of experience in a reference book entitled Chromatographic processes: modeling, simulation and design. The content of this training course is inspired from this publication.1
