I’m currently working in the area of CDMO business development at Jiuzhou Pharma, however I have always considered myself as an analytical development professional, passionate about innovative approaches and development tools to facilitate analytical support of API and drug product development in different phases of pharmaceutical development. Having gained experience at different pharmaceutical companies, including big pharma companies focusing both on generic (Teva) and innovative medicines (J&J) and also CDMOs (Ardena, EUROAPI and Jiuzhou), I managed to get insight into the very different challenges set towards analytical development chemists in different business areas. Regardless of the environment (i.e. clinical phase development or late stage, API or DP, big pharma or CDMO), I have always found that inappropriately defined analytical strategies and inefficient analytical work-flows can play as a major bottleneck and can fundamentally undermine the success of a development project. Hence, using my analytical development background, exercised mostly on different chromatographic techniques and atomic spectroscopy, combined with a passion towards QbD approach I’m dedicated to implement innovative work-flows of analytical procedure development which are fit-for-purpose to the business area applied, ensuring both competitiveness / profitability and quality / regulatory compliance.
